Painting and Sculpture

I was commissioned to make a new sculpture for the plinth that once supported Henry Moore's 'Two Piece Reclining Figure no.1' from 1959 which sat in the courtyard at the front of old Chelsea College of Art building in Manresa Rd SW3. The new work is called 'Painting and Sculpture' after the two opposing departments that enjoyed a happy rivalry before their amalgamation and exodus to Pimlico. Images are of the bronze in situ, of the wax original in my studio, of the model made to establish scale and of various maquettes I made leading to the main work installed in 2013.
